These events are volunteer-powered! We couldn't do it without our incredible volunteers! Trees Matter is in need of several volunteers to help with distributing about 1,000 desert-adapted shade trees to SRP participants. Over the course of the winter months, SRP participants attended virtual tree care workshops, and selected 2 shade trees that they would receive once the weather was more suitable for planting. They will arrive in the drive thru we set up to pick-up their trees between 8am-2:00pm. We need lots of help to ensure the day runs smoothly!
You can read about each of the roles in the sign-up below, and sign up directly for whichever sounds like the best fit for you. Roles range from customer service to more physically active roles!

Trees Matter is looking for volunteers to help plant approximately 50 trees at Rio Salado Restoration Area in Phoenix!
Volunteers will assist with planting trees alongside Trees Matter staff and team leads. This is a physically active event, but no prior experience is necessary, training and tools will be provided on-site.
Our tree plantings are volunteer-powered, and your help makes a direct impact! This work directly supports increased shade, cooler temperatures, and long-term environmental benefits for the surrounding community.

Volunteer at the Mesa Neighborhood Shade Tree Event HERE!
Join us at Skyline Park for a community-centered tree distribution and education event as part of the City of Mesa’s Neighborhood Shade Tree Program. This initiative helps residents plant the right trees in the right places to reduce urban heat, lower energy costs, and expand neighborhood tree canopy.
This event is designed as an interactive, open-house experience where participants can arrive anytime between 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM to learn from arborist educators and pick up their trees. Behind the scenes, it takes a strong volunteer team to keep everything running smoothly, and that’s where you come in!
