Help us plant approximately 100 trees at Marivue Park in Phoenix. This hands-on volunteer opportunity supports a healthier urban forest and provides long-term benefits to the surrounding community.
Our tree plantings are volunteer-powered, and your help makes a direct impact! Volunteers will assist with planting trees alongside Trees Matter staff and team leads to properly place, plant, and water each tree. This is a physically active event, but no prior experience is necessary; training, tools, an gloves will be provided on-site. Please wear closed toe shoes and clothes you are comfortable working in.
This work directly supports increased shade, cooler temperatures, and long-term environmental benefits for the surrounding community.
We hope to see you there!

In the last calendar year, Trees Matter gave away over 6,000 free desert-adapted shade trees to folks all across the Valley! They have been planted, have begun producing shade, sequestering carbon, and so much more!
Now we have another goal: to find out how the trees are doing!
We need YOU to help us check on the trees in your city and to let us know how they're doing.
How it works:

Sign up to be a "volunteer greeter", and help participants get registered and settled in for an in-person tree-care educational workshop being offered by Trees Matter in partnership with the City of Mesa! If you have specialized knowledge in desert-adapted trees, sign up to be a "volunteer expert" at our Ask an Expert table at the workshop.
We will send out a reminder email to volunteers with more detailed info and logistics a week before the event, so volunteers are best prepared for the event.
During the workshop, participants learn about treecare and also choose two 5-gallon trees (approx. 3-5 ft tall) to receive from the program. Pick-up instructions will be provided when they attend the workshop. These participants are prepping to receive trees later the following weekend through the same program.

Trees Matter is partnering with City of Mesa for the new Mesa Shade Tree Program! Trees Matter is in need of several volunteers to help with distributing hundreds of desert-adapted shade trees to Mesa residents, offered by the City of Mesa in partnership with Trees Matter.
The weekend before, participants attended a tree care workshop, and selected 2 shade trees that they would receive at a distribution event day. They will arrive in the drive thru we set up to pick-up their trees. We need lots of help to ensure the day runs smoothly!
You can read about each of the roles in the sign-up below, and sign up directly for whichever sounds like the best fit for you. Roles range from customer service to more physically active roles!
We will email out event information and logistics well before event day, so we're all prepared! These events are volunteer-powered. We couldn't do it without our incredible volunteers!
Our springtime Garden Party Fundraiser is back for a second year! Mark April 9th on your calendar and join us for a beautiful evening of delicious food, cocktails, fancy and fun outfits, and community building. More details and registration coming soon!
