FREE Prickly Pear Fruit Harvest Event!

Instructor: Peggy Sorensen

Location: Private residence near New River (north of Phoenix)

The fruits of the prickly pear cactus, also known as "tunas", are an extremely useful and abundant food source here in the desert. They boast high levels of vitamin C, antioxidants, fiber, calcium, and magnesium and can be used in everything from syrup and pies to margaritas and wine.

Join the VPA to learn how to harvest prickly pear tunas and take some home for your own experiments. This is an onsite talk and demonstration on private land. Bring water, a hat, a pair of kitchen tongs, and a bucket to hold and transport the fruits of your labor.

As this is hosted at a private residence, you will receive the address in an email once you are registered.

Sunday, August 24th
7:00 AM - 10:00 AM.

We look forward to seeing you there!
